Aims of The Club

To promote the game of cricket as a recreational sport in Mulbarton and surrounding areas.
To provide opportunities where children of all abilities can play and enjoy cricket in a safe, fair, encouraging and friendly environment.

Etiquette and Matches

If you are selected to play in a match you will receive an email or phone call.
If you cannot play please let The Club know as soon as possible so that a replacement can be found.
If the match is cancelled because of bad weather or for some other reason, you will be contacted by telephone.
If you are playing please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the game.
Remember all necessary equipment.  Members are expected to provide their own white cricket trousers, shirt and suitable footwear.
The required protective equipment shall be worn during training and matches. Boys must provide their own abdominal protector (box).
Use the time prior to the start of the match to warm up and prepare.
When playing in a match, members are expected when not fielding or batting, to support their team by watching the game.
Players and spectators must demonstrate good sportsmanship. Batters and teams should be applauded when leaving the field of play.
The Umpires decision is final. Never question their decision however unfair or incorrect it may seem.
Shake hands with your opponents at the end of every match.
Members are asked to respect the property of Mulbarton Youth CC and other users of Orchard Park.
Club equipment must be returned tidily to the bag after training/matches. Pad straps should be correctly fastened.
Please offer to help with preparation before, and tidying up after, home games and training sessions.

Please ensure that all personal property is clearly named. We cannot easily return it otherwise.

Safety Guidelines

All members need to be aware of the safety zone at Orchard Park regarding the use of hard balls.
Hard cricket balls must not be used in the safety zone (see below) at any time.
Players knocking up must use the nets or the practice area, hitting the ball away from spectators.
When using the nets, players must be aware at all times of batsmen hitting the ball towards them.
Batsmen using the nets must wear a helmet.
When changing or talking players should be behind the wings of the nets and not in front..

Safeguarding

Mulbarton Cricket Club is committed to ensuring all youth members enjoy a safe and positive experience. We follow the ECB guidelines set out in the “Safe Hands - Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children” and any other relevant guidelines.
